This saturday is national prescription drug take back day where you can drop-off old or unused medicine so it doesn't end up in the wrong hands or on the streets.

The state attorney general says the problem has been understandably overshadowed by the pandemic.

"we can't lose sight of the fact that there is an ongoing epidemic related to drugs in kentucky in particular has been hit hard by this."

The state donated 600 packets to the police departments in berea, paris and the bourbon county sheriff's office...which the medication can be dropped in and neutralized before being thrown away.
