Chico's Treat Street has some changes due to the pandemic

The 20th year of Downtown Chico's Treat Street will be this Friday from 3 to 5pm.

It will be a drive-thru event rather than the usual trick-or-treating due to the pandemic.

Street will be a bit different because of the coronavirus.

Action news now reporter bryan ramsey is in downtown chico today.

Bryan, what's changes do people need to be aware of?

People need to know treat street will be a drive-thru event and not a trick- or-treat..

Event like in the past.

Before the pandemic, trick- or-treaters would walk in downtown chico among the many businesses handing out candy.

Today the downtown chico business association was filling up bags of candy that will be used at the treat street drive-thru.

"the rotarians, we've got about 26 people who showed up to help us get the bags together.

They are pretty full so we hope so many people come down.

Be in your cars, get dressed up, go to downtownchico.

Com and click on the treat street badge to register.

We've also got some great prizes for a car contest prize."

The treat street drive-thru will take place between 3 and 5 o'clock this friday.

You will enter on main street and follow the cones around 4th st to broadway to receive your treat bag.

This is the 20th year chico will be celebrating halloween with treat street.
