I questioned the Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) in today’s House Judiciary Subcommittee Hearing.
I brought to his attention how the DC Jail, which is outside of BOP’s jurisdiction, is egregiously mistreating January 6 inmates.
He confirmed that many actions taken by the DC Jail towards January 6 inmates would violate BOP standards.
His answers highlight how the DC Jail is not complying with mainstream correctional practices and taking illegal punitive measures against pre-trial inmates who have not been convicted of a crime.
