The state's rural fire service, communicating via social media, indicated the deployment of more than 700 firefighters and incident management personnel, addressing blazes amid widespread high and extreme fire danger.
Authorities have cautioned about a heightened risk of bushfires during this Australian summer, following two relatively calm seasons compared to the devastating "Black Summer" of 2019-2020, which ravaged an area equivalent to Turkey and claimed 33 lives.
