News 18's meredith hackler talked with two local organizations who are trying to adapt when the future is unclear.

20-20 started out as a good year for loving heart animal shelter.

"we were doing really good.

January and february which is normally our slow months it was crazy here because we were getting donations coming in our income was up adoption were up.

We were at like 15 cats and 8 dogs already in the first two months and now that's all going to come to screeching halt."- san executive director, loving heart animal shelter one big reason things will change is because loving heart animal shelter can no longer do home visits for people looking to adopt a dog.

But the shelter is adapting to the stay at home order.

"we did a virtual home visit first.

So we set up a camera and they walked around their house so we got to see the house we met the other dog so that's an option we may be able to look in to."

Sandy fogarasi foster based loving paws animal center is also seeing negative effects from the coronavirus.

"our donations have stopped we've seen about a 75 percent decrease."- theresa fee founder, loving paws animal center loving paws animal center rescues sick and feral cats.

Right now the rescue is caring for 60 animals.

"theresa brings to us really those cats that would otherwise be forgotten and not be able to make it on their own."- carol hainje veterinarian, battle ground veterinarian cliniand since loving paws cats have unique needs their vet bills are higher than normal.

"anybody even trying to help animals we do need the support we operate on donations so we cannot function outside of that."- theresa fee so, if you are feeling a little lonely these days, you might consider adopting a furry friend.

"you know a lot of people aren't use to being this isolated so to have a dog or a cat there with you and not be by yourself..

It would be a good time to get a dog or cat.
