Huntsville Hair Salon Prepares to Reopen

A hair salon in Huntsville did a trial run on Monday.

All of them put new safety measures in place.

They spent the day training employees before customers return tomorrow.

Here at salon allure, the staff cleaned their stations all day and practiced new health guidelines such as wearing a mask..

The owners told me they wanted to give their staff a day of practice to make sure everyone feels safe and it was a success paula lecher, salon owner,"we are going to be at 50 percent capacity.

We are having to use every other station.

We had to do a new schedule for everybody so they're working less but it's what we have to do and we will follow the guidelines."

So they actually had to wait in their car, call us and let us know they're here and when the stylist was ready, they were asked to come in.

>> reporter: they spent a lot of money buying masks and installing shields.

With eight weeks of lost appointments they're expanding hours to catch up but it will take a while to get everyone back on the schedule.

8:00 to 6:00 saturday and even opening a few sundays to get caught back up semmes some of the stylists here at the salon have availability but the most senior stylists are already booked completely up until july --
