Today!

But some other outdoor activities like miniature golf still can not.

Newschannel2's chelsea sherrod has the story.

About one month after golf courses were deemed as non- essential businesses, local golf courses began to re-open their facilities with restrictive guidelines.

As the mohawk valley has started its re-opening process...one local course is wondering why they aren't able to do the same.

Barbara denslow: what we would like to do is invite governor cuomo out to play mini golf and show them how safe it is.

I can work.

This week, governor cuomo's update on essential businesses states that recreational activities such as golf and driving ranges can be open with the exception of miniature golf.

Tom denslow: i believe that they think that miniature golf courses are not large enough to be able to handle people and keep the separation needed but as you can see we put lines down through for people to stand away.

6-foot line markers, disinfectant, precaution signs and 30 to 50 foot holes are some of the reasons why gold rush owners believes it should be open.

Tom denslow: we see so many other things opening ice cream places with big lines people were standing there and we're looking at our place.

We have a plan and it does work for what the state has for the distances and so i guess we're just disappointed that we're not one of the ones i get to open.

Outdoor recreation parks like peter pauls and room re-open the batting cages today the first attraction to reopen of the season due to coronavirus.

Sean arnold: this is our second season owning the park so we are kind of excited to get to season open.

It's the safest outdoor activity that we could come up with with the attractions are we have here we are operating with virtually a contact free environment for the public.

Customers can book a time slot online for the batting cages and must wear a masks at all times.

The denslow's say that they spoke to senator joe griffo's office about their concern.

And its effects on them financially.

Barbara denslow: we really understand the problems that they are facing we're just passing one problem they're facing everybody else's problem we will be able to survive it no matter what happens that's not the issue but it is a lot to have to overcome to take care of the property and nothing coming in to do that also.

And when they do reopen, they're open 7 days a week from 10 a-m to 10 p-m.
