The parking lot at lower Bidwell Park was full Tuesday morning.

The Red Cross is sharing advice on how to stay safe during a heat wave.

The parking lot at lower bidwell park was*ful* tuesday morning.

People wanted the chance to head to the pool, break a sweat or simply sit down and people watch.

All this is fine earlier in the day - but with temperatures expected to climb today - the red cross has some safety reminders if you are heading out: wear lose clothing, drink lots of water, and take frequent breaks- under some shade if possible.

I asked some in chico how*the* cool off.

We live in a rural community we have 10 acres so we get to go outside anytime we want and we irrigate so we run through sprinklers.

"running early in the morning staying inside in the afternoon hang out by the pool.

Basically the same exact same thing."

A reminder we can't stress enough -*do no* leave children or pets inside the car.
