Baseball is returning to whitaker bank ballpark for the battle of the bourbon trail.

L3: abc 36 sports white familiar faces trying out for the legends whitaker bank ballpark this morning the legends had tryouts to fill out the remaining spots on their roster.

Nearly fifty athletes came out..

Including several former uk players.

The legends and the florence y'alls have put together a 32 game season.

Both teams have home games five days a week.

Legends owner andy shea says the legends are the only minor league affiliate that's been able to organize an independent season during the pandemic.

"i think the final product will be just exhilarating.

It will be one of the most special things in baseball i think ever in the state of kentucky."

The first home game is august 1st.

Attendance will be limited.
