The lexington legends will begin he battle of the bourbon trail on july 31st, but first they need a team.

Abc 36's austin miller was out at tryouts to see whos trying ot step up to the plate.

Take pkg there may not be a minor league season this year..

But that's not stopping the legends and y'alls from playing baseball.

That passion for the game has attracted attractived some talent as well..

Like former big leaguer and lexington catholic grad ben revere..

As well as former cats like kole cottam and luke becker.

The two month season won't pay much..

But for those playing..

It's a unique opportunity to get another shot at catching major league eyes.

Over those couple of months..

The legends will have five home games a week..

32 games in total.

C1 3 to pull this off..

Lexington and florence have each split their rosters to create an additional team for both clubs.

The idea is to give fans more chances to come to the ballpark..

And to keep travel to a minimum for players and coaches.

Legends owner andy shea says there aren't any other minor league teams doing this type of event.
